AWAC AST by Nortek AS

AWAC AST is a companion application for Nortek’s AWAC acoustic profilers that processes Acoustic Surface Tracking (AST) returns to deliver high‑resolution, non‑directional wave and sea surface elevation measurements. It extracts, visualizes, and quality‑controls AST time series and statistics, providing reliable estimates of key parameters such as significant wave height and characteristic periods. By leveraging direct surface echoes, AWAC AST complements standard pressure- and orbital‑velocity–based methods, offering robust performance in shallow water, strong currents, and energetic sea states.
